The Procedure And Options
Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure performed in our QUAD-A–accredited surgical suite. Surgery typically lasts approximately 1.5 hours and is performed under IV sedation.
- Implants & Incisions: Both saline and silicone gel implants are available. Implants may be placed beneath the chest muscle using either an inframammary (breast fold) or peri-areolar (around the areola) incision. Implant type, size, and incision location are selected collaboratively based on anatomy and desired outcome.
- Size Selection: Implant size is a personalized decision guided by patient preference, body proportions, and surgical recommendations. While many patients historically preferred a fuller C cup, trends increasingly favor smaller, more athletic profiles.
- Follow-Up & Recovery: Patients are typically seen the day after surgery, again at one week, and at three and six months. Most return to work within one week and resume strenuous activity after approximately four weeks.
