Otoplasty can be performed on children as young as five years old, once the ears have reached near-full development. The Otoplasty Procedure
- Consultation: Your journey begins with a personalized consultation to discuss goals, anatomy, and expectations, as well as the surgical plan and recovery process.
- Surgery: A discreet incision is made behind each ear, allowing access to reshape and reposition the cartilage. Small amounts of tissue may be adjusted to improve symmetry and contour. The ears are then secured in a more natural position closer to the head.
- Outpatient Procedure: Otoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis in our fully accredited, in-office surgical suite.
- Recovery: Temporary swelling and bandaging are expected following surgery. Most patients return to normal daily activities within one week, with ears appearing natural within approximately two weeks. Contact sports and vigorous activity should be avoided for 6–8 weeks.
