Medial Thigh Lift in Lexington, KY

A medial thigh lift is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the inner thighs, improving contour, comfort, and overall proportion. This procedure is commonly recommended for patients who have experienced significant weight loss and are left with loose skin that does not respond to diet or exercise.

In many cases, a medial thigh lift is performed as part of a staged body contouring plan, particularly for patients undergoing a Lower Body Lift. For safety and optimal healing, thigh procedures are typically performed separately from abdominal surgeries, allowing proper circulation and recovery.

Types Of Medial Thigh Lift

The approach used depends on the degree of skin laxity and the amount of excess tissue present.

  • Transverse Thigh Lift: This technique removes excess skin and fat from the upper inner thigh near the groin. It is generally appropriate for patients with moderate skin laxity following weight loss or aging.
  • Full Vertical Thigh Lift: A more extensive procedure that removes excess skin and fat along the entire length of the inner thigh. This approach is most often recommended for patients after massive weight loss.

Both techniques frequently incorporate liposuction to further refine contour. In select cases with minimal skin laxity, liposuction alone may be sufficient.

The Medial Thigh Lift Procedure

  • Consultation: Your experience begins with a comprehensive consultation to evaluate anatomy, discuss goals, and determine the most appropriate surgical approach. Recovery expectations, staging, and follow-up care are reviewed in detail.
  • Surgery: A medial thigh lift may be performed as an outpatient procedure; however, more extensive cases may require an overnight hospital stay for monitoring and comfort.
  • Post-Operative Care: Patients are typically evaluated the day following surgery, with additional follow-up visits scheduled throughout recovery to monitor healing and results.
  • Recovery & Activity: Most patients return to non-strenuous work within two to three weeks. More strenuous physical activity and exercise are generally resumed after approximately four weeks, depending on individual healing.
