The Sciton used by our staff are both safe and effective. Not only can it treat any part of the body but it is flexible, and safe enough to treat skin-of-color patients as well. Permanent hair reduction is achieved in nearly 80% of individuals treated. The best results are seen after multiple treatments because hair goes through different phases and the hair follicle is most effective during the “growth phase”.
How Does The Sciton Laser Work?
Hair shafts and hair follicles contain melanin (pigment in hair). The light source of the laser causes thermal damage to the hair shaft and follicle - and in turn causes these hair shafts and follicles to shut down – all without damaging the surrounding tissue. By destroying the hair producing follicle with the laser the medical condition known as “folliculitis barbae” (ingrown hairs) can be improved soon after the first treatment.

After the series of treatments - touch up treatments may be needed in a couple of years.
